Permanent contract

Bupa Place, Manchester based with Hybrid working

Salary circa £40k per annum

Full time hours – 37. 5 hours per week, Monday – Friday

The role

The purpose of the role is two-fold; firstly, the development and delivery of fit-for-purpose reporting designs for reporting services in Workday that are in line with requirements, standards and strategies and secondly, the development of the people reporting architecture capability at Bupa. You will effectively be acting as a Workday report writer consulting the business.

You’ll help us make health happen by


  • Accountable for understanding internal and external client reporting requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and recommends options, supporting implementation if required.
  • Collaborates with, and leads stakeholder groups, as part of formal or informal consultancy agreements. Seeks to fully address client needs, enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of client personnel, by ensuring that proposed solutions are properly understood and appropriately exploited.
  • Broker discussions between senior stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
  • Ensure the 3-tier model of reporting, self-serve (user), self-serve (reporting tool) and complicated queries is well maintained
  • Actively work on creating efficiency in reporting solutions including manager dashboards

Solution Consultation:

  • Leads the development of reporting designs for complex queries, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external, and internal customers.
  • Takes full responsibility for the balance between functional, service quality and systems management requirements.
  • Establishes policy, security, and strategy for the selection of reporting artefacts, components, and co-ordinates design activities, promoting the discipline to ensure consistency. Ensures that appropriate standards (corporate, industry, national and international) are adhered to.
  • Produces required design documentation as agreed with stakeholders.
  • Ensures design documentation is in line with Bupa standards, appropriately reviewed and signed off through the required governance processes.
  • Maintains relationships with strategic vendors to maintain knowledge of solutions and technology and drive value.

Technical Expertise:

  • Maintains broad knowledge of digital technology, particularly Workday, reporting services and provides expert advice regarding their application.
  • Knowledge in specific aspects of Workday reporting design, technique, method, product, or application area.
  • Can lead specialist consultancy as required.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role

  • Deep experience in Workday reporting services and other relevant modules.
  • Experience of solution design against requirements
  • Experience of consulting to drive and validate solutions
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas and issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent presentation and influencing skills
  • Thought leadership – demonstrating the confidence to bring new ideas to Digital Delivery whilst carefully managing stakeholder expectations
  • Commercially focussed – able to recognise, utilise and create opportunities based on a strong grasp of financial expenditure principles
  • Strong problem-solving skills
