About Chenope
Chenope is a small but multinational startup headquartered in the USA. We are 100% employee-owned, and financially stable. Chenope’s founders have previously had a successful startup, and have a long track record of producing real innovation including numerous well-cited patents.
We are a core technology company focused on detecting anomalies in large scale data, specifically unusual regularities in data that suggest attempts to manipulate, distort, or pollute an information space. Unlike most data analysis companies, our technology does not rely on a single approach such as Machine Learning, but most frequently has been built using real world tradecraft to determine the more accurate pure mathematical expressions of different scenarios.
Job Description
We are hiring to create software research and development labs in a few different areas. These are true R&D labs in the sense that they will be expected to produce commercial products. We are still early on in the process, so the current focus is on building development teams for implementing proof of concept and example systems with some of our existing technology.
We are looking for a number of Natural Language Processing Engineers to work on projects in the following areas:
- Detecting coordinated disinformation
- Heterogenous sensor fusion
- Detecting implicit bias in online sources
The areas overlap and teams will be expected to work across projects. Some example tasks that these projects involve include, but are not limited to: building complex chat-bots to solicit information from the public, fusing data from various sensors / sources (to begin with this will be text but may also include speech further down the line), and developing sets of linguistic features to detect implicit bias. This may include improvements of existing approaches, or the development of novel ideas. Team members are expected to think on their feet and not be afraid to try new things. If successful, there is the potential to collaborate on patents.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of industry or equivalent experience
- Evidence of original work, whether work on well-known product, github, papers, patents, etc
- Experience with large-scale data collection and processing
- Proficiency in Python, including PyTorch and TensorFlow and NLP toolkits
- Experience implementing Machine Learning algorithms
Prior experience with the following nice to have:
- Experience with training and fine-tuning LLMs
- Experience with Signal processing desired but not necessary
- Experience implementing complex chat-bots
- Experience with text analytics, including fusing text across a variety of sources
- Prior experience working in the military, law enforcement, or intelligence domains
Benefits:
- Competitive salaries
- Flexible working
- Stock options
- Generous vacation policy
- Private medical insurance
- Real startup environment with substantial growth potential
- Dog-friendly offices
