The Role:

As the first Data Scientist in our dynamic team, you’ll play a key role in transforming health outcomes. This isn’t just a job; it’s a chance to make a tangible difference, potentially saving lives through your work. Together with the Chief Digital Officer, you’ll look to solve some of the biggest societal health challenges in the UK, and you’ll solve these through data science!

Who We Need:

  • We’re looking for a Data Scientists and Mathematicians with a Purpose: We’re looking for brilliant minds that can tackle complex data challenges.
  • PhD-Level Expertise with Real-World Impact: Ideal candidates have a strong academic background and experience in applying their skills to solve public sector problems.
  • Experience in Public Sector Challenges: If you’ve used data science to address issues in the public sector, you’re who we’re looking for.

Skills and technologies you be using in this role:

  • Hands on proficiency in technologies, languages, and tools such as
  • Python, R, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Jupyter Notebooks, SQL, Apache
  • Spark, Azure Machine Learning Service, AWS Machine Learning
  • Services or equivalent tools.

Type of experience you may have now and/or will gain in the future

  • Experience with machine learning algorithms, predictive modelling and statistical analysis.
  • Familiarity with healthcare-specific data sources, including Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and administrative healthcare data, particularly open data standard sources via FHIR and OpenEHR.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively
  • with multidisciplinary teams and healthcare professionals.
