Senior Data Engineer IAM

As a Barclays Senior Data Engineer IAM, you will support in accelerating a new digital platform capability, transforming and modernising our digital estate to build a market-leading digital offering with customer experience at its heart. What will you be doing?

  • Designing, building and maintaining a centralised, secure, scalable and efficient IAM platform
  • Engaging with the Group Data Architecture Council to ensure conformance of data models to standards and group strategy
  • Ensuring the integrity and suitability of the data model and for the evolution of the group wide IAM platform
  • Coaching, working closley and communicating with colleagues to drive the application of extensible and performant data models within the platform, following formal methodologies
  • Ensuring data security and compliance levels are adhered to
  • Providing feedback and action activities to mature and improve operations and processes within the team and more broadly across the function
  • Engaging with partners across the bank and contribute to patterns and practices that support the platform’s IAM data management and integration capabilities
  • Demonstrating hands-on engineering-based data leadership to both the team and the wider tech community


What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in Enterprise scale data system implementation using formally supported database and data storage technologies
  • Solid knowledge of data standards and regulations applicable to Financial Services institutions
  • Implementation and deployment of geo-fenced data solutions, automated script based deployment and configuration experience
  • Site Reliability Engineering experience, automation, observability, incident management, resilience, disaster recovery, high availability, documentation, BC /DR


Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Experience in Automation based compliance and controls patching
  • Experience of Relational Databases: PostgreSQL, OracleDB, MS SQL
  • Knowledge in ETL technologies: Ab Initio, Informatica, SSIS
  • Understanding of Distributed Storage and processing technologies: Hadoop, Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Spark
