About the vacancy: The School of Computing and Creative Technologies is a rapidly expanding School offering high quality undergraduate and postgraduate programmes which include Mathematics, Data Science, Business Computing and Financial Technology.

 

We also support a growing and successful body of research in applied statistics and data science. The School has about 130 academic staff and over 2,500 undergraduate and postgraduate students.

 

About you: Candidates will have either have a PhD in Statistics or a closely related discipline, or else equivalent professional experience.
Expertise in statistical modelling, applications, programming (R, Python), quantitative research methods and data analytics is essential. The successful candidate will be able to adapt their teaching style to provide a supportive and inclusive learning experience for our students.
You will be capable of high-quality research in a field of applied statistics leading to journal and conference publications. Awareness of research funding opportunities and a successful track record of research collaboration is essential.
Where is this role based?
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed – £300m has been invested in new state-of-the-art learning spaces and accommodation while we continue to develop incredible new facilities to enhance our offer even further.
Frenchay campus has excellent transport links; as well as being located near the motorway network we are within walking distance of two train stations, our bus terminus connects us to the local bus and metrobus network and we also have a range of cycling and changing facilities.
