Job Description
Applications are invited for a Lecturer in Data Science.
Subject expertise of particular interest include:
- Applied Statistics (data analysis including: probability testing, statistical testing, hypothesis testing, parameter estimation, regression analysis, computational statistics).
- Machine Learning (Unsupervised and Supervised learning algorithms, programming, forecasting, data mining, predictive modeling).
We seek an enthusiastic academic who will contribute through teaching across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules and add to the research environment within this area.
Experience of researching or collaborating with external clients, partners and stakeholders is essential.
Data Science is a dynamic subject area, active in research and consultancy, with a rapidly expanding Data Science Programme.
You will have excellent communication skills, prior teaching experience, be committed to high quality teaching, and will lecture on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate data science modules and relevant undergraduate modules in mathematics.
The department has a wide range of research interests, which this post is intended to enhance. You will possess a range of skills necessary to complement and enhance scholarly activity within the department, and to assist its growing reputation both locally and internationally. Your contribution to research and consultancy will be strongly encouraged, with support provided in the development of your personal research profile.
This is a full-time, fixed term post for a period of 12 months.
