Role Purpose


The Data Scientist will be at the forefront of applying Generative AI techniques to derive insights from vast customer data, enhancing customer satisfaction and driving strategic decision-making across CX Strategy, CVM, and Customer Operations. This role will involve working with state-of-the-art cloud-based solutions and Large Language Models to develop pioneering advanced analytics products.


What you’ll do


  • Strategic Leadership: Support the team with the delivery of innovative Generative AI projects, proposing technical direction and challenging the status quo to ensure we always achieve strategic business objectives.
  • Advanced Analytical Solutions: Hands-on development, and deployment of complex machine learning systems and Gen AI solutions. Ensure these solutions address key business challenges and result in tangible benefits.
  • Data Strategy and Governance: Ensure every project delivered adheres to Vodafone’s Data and AI Governance procedures. Develop and implement best practices for data handling and analysis.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior management, Technology, and local analytics teams to define and implement AI products that enhance business outcomes. Act as a subject matter expert for Gen AI model deployments.
  • Innovation and Research: Drive innovation by staying abreast of the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and analytics. Encourage the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to maintain competitive advantage.


Who you are


  • Experience leveraging Large Language Models such as GPT4, Llama3 through APIs and internal endpoints such as AWS Sagemaker Jumpstart.
  • Expertise in handling large and complex datasets, with a keen ability to uncover insights that drive strategic decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency in data visualization and the creation of dashboards and protypes that succinctly communicate insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly pick up new tools and technologies to ensure the team is always at the forefront of innovation.
  • Understanding of how to leverage data to enhance customer engagement and satisfaction.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage different stakeholders.
  • Analytical and expansive thinking with a strong desire to deliver and develop.
  • Experience with Telco data, Digital / App data (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in quantitative fields like Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence.
  • Expertise in data manipulation and analysis: use of structured data tools (e.g., SQL) & proficiency in Python; one more relevant programming language would be preferred.
  • Expertise in developing efficient, reliable code with a laser focus on quality.
  • Experience in prompt engineering, large language model selection and API model inference.
  • Experience with visualisation tools (e.g. Qlik, Streamlit, Dash, PowerBI).
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).

  • Yearly bonus: 10%
