We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our global team. The successful candidate will contribute to the growth and optimisation of our data warehouse ecosystem within the Microsoft technology stack. This role involves integrating data from various enterprise systems into our data warehouse, transforming, curating, and securing it to ensure it is consumable by the Business Intelligence, Data Analytics teams, and other data consumers within our organisation.

This role will focus on:

  • Assist in the design, development, and deployment of data from diverse systems into the data warehouse.
  • Utilise the latest Microsoft technology for ETL/ELT, data processing, and analytics requirements.
  • Develop and maintain data transformations and data pipeline architectures.
  • Collaborate in building robust data pipelines to consolidate data from various sources.
  • Participate in automating tasks and deploying production-standard code, including unit testing, continuous integration, and versioning.
  • Troubleshoot data extraction and maintenance processes for the data warehouse.
  • Work with data analytics and BI teams to deliver data in usable formats and ensure data quality and accuracy.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of documentation related to ETL/ELT and data processing.
  • Assist in maintaining data governance and data management standards.
  • Monitor data performance and assist in optimising.
  • Stay up to date with the latest data engineering industry trends.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Prior experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Experience with the Microsoft data technology stack, including Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and Data Lakehouses.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT Tools, including Azure Analysis Services and DataBricks.
  • Certified or working towards Microsoft Certified Data Engineer.
  • Experience in building and optimising ‘big data’ pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
  • Proficiency in SQL; familiarity with .NET and Power BI is a plus.
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
  • Ability to design and implement well-written code.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Experience testing data from the source to the presentation layer.
  • Ability to troubleshoot data pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
